Southern Illinois Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (SISTEM) Network

The Southern Illinois STEM Network coordinates a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math experiences and activities for Southern Illinois girls in grades 4 through 12, as well as for their parents, teachers, and counselors. We wish to encourage girls to develop their own natural interest in STEM from an early age, and to provide girls with a series of exciting STEM activities to fit their age, experience, and skill as they progress through school.

Visit the Carbondale Public Library!

Carbondale Public Library provides a program of resources and services supporting the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the residents of the City of Carbondale. An interlibrary loan program provides access to the resources of public, academic, school, and special libraries throughout the state. Local, regional, and statewide networks are linked electronically to share resources.

Visit the Marion Carnegie Library!

The Marion Carnegie Library is the recreational and informational resource center for Marion, “the hub of the universe”. Materials in a variety of formats are available for adults, teens, and children. The library offers free Internet access, meeting rooms, study rooms, programs for all ages, and much more. The library strives to bring the Carnegie tradition into the 21st century.

The Sallie Logan Public Library provides a program of resources and services supporting the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the Murphysboro Community.

Visit the C.E. Brehm Memorial Library in Mt. Vernon!

Library service in Mt. Vernon began with the Shakespeare Club in 1893. The city of Mt. Vernon worked with the Shakespeare Club and established a free public library in 1899. In 1905 the library was moved into the new Carnegie building. Two wings were added in 1982 and the library was renamed C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library. The library became a district library in 1989, and in 2003 the district grew from 3 townships to 15 townships.

The mission of the library is to provide access to the universe of information, at the library and through our home page. Our goal is to provide educational and recreational resources and services to all members of the district.

Shawnee Library System

Shawnee is a regional library system, funded through the office of the Illinois Secretary of State, covering 12,719 square miles in 32 counties in southern Illinois with a population base of 645,365.
